Mission Statement
AUCKLANDSheepskin supplies the most beneficial genuine sheepskin and wool products available.

History: 20 years of Sheepskin
For over twenty years Southern Cross Sheepskins Inc. has been a retailer, wholesaler and distribution channel of genuine Australian and New Zealand sheepskin products. The company focus has always been supplying North Americans with a premier quality of sheepskin fashions and therapeutic products.

With an increasing range of satisfied customers the demand for a high-end brand of luxury-meets-health genuine sheepskin and wool products was ready to be formed in North America.

A new subsidiary of the company’s most beneficial genuine sheepskin products became AUCKLAND Sheepskins as it is known today.

Australian & New Zealand Sheepskin
Sheepskin products offer a wide range of advantages over similar commodities made from other materials.

  • Warm in winter, cool in summer. The warmth concept is easy to comprehend; the “cool is summer” slogan still puzzles many people today. Merino wool is very breathable and absorbent which allows for a cool dry comfort all summer long on a mattress cover, car seat cover, or shaggy déor rug.
  • Full covering shearling (wool still attached to the skin) is warmer than any other material; however, it is still breathable and able to absorb over 30% its own weight in moisture before ever feeling damp. This means that while all of our slippers, hats, gloves, and mitts are toasty and warm you never feel sweat while wearing the products. *Over 90% of sheepskin slippers today are encased with a full layer of cow-hide for added durability. This is because they are made from inferior quality skins which otherwise would not carry the sturdiness that Australian and New Zealand skins are capable of.
  • We all perspire when we sleep, most of us sweat about one liter per night. Surrounding yourself with merino wool while you sleep is the best way to keep yourself dry and undisturbed throughout the night.

Comfort and fit
Slippers should be snug at first, but not uncomfortable. Over the first couple of wears they will naturally mold to the shape of your foot. If you usually wear a half size, then size down when buying sheepskin slippers as the skins will stretch to accommodate your foot.
